Labor Day 2010

Over Labor Day weekend, we took a little family trip to St. Louis. We stayed downtown and had an awesome view of the arch from our hotel window. Though before we made it to the hotel room, there was a little mishap with our arrangements. . .We arrived at the hotel around 9:00 Friday night, exhausted and ready for bed. We began the check-in process and discovered that our reservation was for the weekend of Sept. 24-26th, not the 3rd-5th! We did not have our confirmation paper-panic began to sink in. The hotel was nice enough to honor the rate and found a room for us on one of the busiest weekends. What a relief. The hotel said that they had seen these type of mistakes before and thought it was a Priceline mistake. Praise the Lord!

We were able to relax, get a good night's sleep, and go on with our plans. Our first visit was to the Arch. Addison expressed some fear and was unsure of riding to the top of the Arch. She kept saying, "Mommy, it's HUGE!" She eventually went along with the idea, and we all made it to the top without a scene. The next stop was the Magic House.

It was a really neat place. We especially enjoyed the Village. The girls' favorites were playing doctor in the nursery and serving pizza in the restaurant. There was SO much to see and do. I would love to go back on a week day when it isn't as crowded.

On Sunday, we went to the Zoo. The weather was gorgeous and we saw lots of animals out and about. My little scaredy cat, Addison, was concerned that the animals might get her and expressed worry when Sydney climbed the fences to get a better view. Though, Addison did bring home an animal friend from Build-a-Bear at the Zoo. She chose a leopard, named her Lucy, and dressed her as a pink ballerina. She has a much different opinion of the stuffed species. = )
No, we did not catch a Cardinals game. That was a little hard for Tim. ; ) Maybe next time.
If you haven't noticed, there are more pictures in the photo gallery.
