Sweet and sassy 6 year old

Sydney turned 6 today! She celebrated ALL day long. . .starting with pancakes in the shape of a "6" for breakfast, sharing cupcakes with her classmates, and ending with a family meal at the new Los Bravos. I think she walked around on a cloud throughout the day (it might have been sugar induced). She loved the special attention that she received from family, friends, classmates, and teachers.

This year has been quite eventful and full of new things for Sydney. She's grown in so many ways. She can swim without floaties, tie her shoes, blow bubbles with bubble gum, and climb almost any tree/door frame. (you know, the important things in life)

She makes us laugh, drives us crazy, and at times eats more than most grown men (so jealous of her metabolism), rightfully earning her the nickname "Tank".

This year also marks Sydney's first trip to the hospital. Her feelings on her stay were mixed. She loathes needles and whirlpools(what an experience that was!), but she loved her special treatment from the nurses who brought her jello, Popsicles, and Gatorade any time she asked. We're so thankful she is all better now.

And finally, this year Sydney's relationship with her sister has been such a blessing to watch. She LOVES her little "Addie Bear", and wants to play with her all the time. She even wakes her up early from nap time, because she just can't seem to play or do things without her. We pray this sisterly bond continues to grow for a lifetime.

Thank you Lord for the wonderful blessing that is our Sydney.

Happy Birthday, Sydney!!
