Pumpkin Patch 2009
Yesterday, we went to the pumpkin patch at Huber Orchard and enjoyed a wonderful day of sights, sounds, smells, and fun. As we were traveling, the beauty of God's creation was evident in the fields, trees, and sky. Or at least I thought so, Addison slept, Sydney played on her Leapster, and Tim listened to music. When we arrived, we quickly noticed we were not the only ones taking advantage of the great fall day, the place was packed! We jumped on a wagon, and off we went to the pumpkin patch. Sydney picked her pumpkin almost immediately, and unfortunately for Tim it meant lugging around an 18 pound pumpkin for the remainder of the expedition. Addison, with the help of her Mommy, picked out her pumpkin in no time as well. It weighed in at only 10 pounds. Sydney carried it for about 100 feet before giving up and letting Daddy balance another pumpkin. What a talented guy! After the patch, we enjoyed some farm fresh ice cream and a scrumptious apple cider doughnut. Yum! The rest of the day was spent at the Farm Park, where Sydney got to drive a mini-tractor, Addison went down the Mountain slide, and we all worked our way through a surprisingly tough bamboo maze. (We were literally lost at one point.) What a fun way to spend a day with the family!
