School is back in session and we are trying to settle into a routine. We so loved our lazy summer days and miss them already. On the first day of school, Addison let us know exactly how she felt about getting up early.
Though the initial shock of getting up early has worn off, and Addison typically wakes up in a very sunny mood. When I drop the girls off at daycare, she insists on walking in herself, gives me a hug, waves good-bye and says "Bye-bye, Mama." As a working mom, I am thrilled that she is so confident and loves the people she is with when I am gone, but at the same time it makes me a little sad that she is such a big girl. Speaking of being a big girl, this weekend Addison spent a little time practicing going on the potty. She went #1 and #2 in the potty various times at home and while we were out in public. She has shown interest in going potty for a while now, but I was waiting on a couple more signs before we went full board into potty training. Sydney had a sleepover with Braylee this weekend and Tim was out of town, so it was a good opportunity for us to practice.
We also attended an outdoor wedding this weekend. What a beautiful day for a wedding!! My great-uncle brought his horses and white carriage down from northern Indiana for the bride and groom, and Sydney was more than thrilled when he offered us a ride, but a little disappointed she didn't get to help hold the reins. = )
The evening ended with a little foot loose on the dance floor. Sydney was a little hesitant at first to show off her dance moves, but when her little sister took the lead, Sydney warmed up to the dance floor.
