Spring Break 09

For spring break, we took a little weekend trip to Cincinnati. Tim and I do not have the same break, but we were able to split time between the two over the weekend. We left Friday and got home Monday night. We got an awesome deal on Priceline, and stayed at the Embassy Suites in downtown Cincinnati. Our room had a full view of the Ohio River. Upon our arrival, we gave Sydney the low down on this being a fancy hotel and how important it was to have good manners. Her response was, "Yeah, just like Fancy Nancy!" We could have spent our entire weekend in the hotel and Sydney would have been as happy as a lark. Though, Addison and I would have gone completely stir crazy. So, on Saturday we toured the Creation Museum. It was a really neat experience, but I'd recommend not going there on a weekend or with small children. It was really crowded and there is lots of information to take in. Our little ones didn't have much patience for that kind of stuff. Addison especially had a difficult time and was in no mood to have her picture taken.

After the Creation Museum, we went back to the hotel for a little swimming. The girls had lots of fun. Addison perked up while we were swimming, but still wouldn't let me capture a picture.

Then, it was out to eat and a brief stop at Kohl's to make a return. At Kohl's, we all perked up when there was a double seat shopping cart. It was really funny and a bit strange that we were all so excited about a shopping cart. It's the little things in life, right?

On Sunday, the weather was really yucky, so we spent the day hanging out at the hotel. This allowed Addison the chance to catch up on some much needed sleep. In the evening, we took a photo op at the hotel and then went out to eat.

Monday, the weather turned around and we were able to go to the zoo. We had a really nice time. Sydney took on the role of tour guide and led us around by using the zoo map. She wanted to make sure we saw her favorites, the tigers with the orange and black stripes, the elephants, and the giraffes. Tim and Sydney got to experience feeding the giraffes-very cool, and Addison entertained us with her lion impressions.

Our trip to the zoo, was a perfect way to end our little trip. I loved the opportunity to "get away." Now, it's back to reality chasing after my girls and doing mounds and mounds of laundry.
