Another Wild Weekend

Wow! I can't believe we are at the end of another weekend. Let's see, where do I start? ; ) There is so much to tell I may have to split this into separate posts.

On Friday, my mom and I took the girls to get their picture taken at the mall; which took nearly 2 hours, but it was a great experience-pictures coming soon. Then we did a LOT more shopping. I hadn't been shopping in months and it was driving me crazy!! The girls still needed a few things to complete their summer wardrobes and I was in major need of some new tops. Misson accomplished! Mom and I also needed to pick up supplies for a very last minute 50th anniversary celebration for my grandparents-details to follow, and a baby shower gift. For the most part the girls were awesome! We only had TWO injuries and ONE meltdown. The first injury took place in the play area at the mall when Sydney took a running leap onto a bench and smacked the top of her foot on the wood underneath the seat. Her foot swelled and ended up bruising all the way through. She was unable to walk with her shoe (a flip flop) on because the strap went across the sore spot. She was definitely too big for either of us to carry so we bought her a pair of socks to wear while she hobbled through the rest of our shopping trip. She didn't mind to walk on it once she had the sock to wear. The second injury took place at Hobby Lobby after Sydney's meltdown outside of the store. We were nearing supper time and Sydney hadn't had a nap so when Addison got to ride in the cart and she couldn't (Have you ever seen the size of the shopping carts at Hobby Lobby?? Ridiculously small!) it was enough to push her over the edge. Once she calmed down, she thought she could ride underneath the basket of the cart; which her mommy told her wasn't a good idea, but she thought she would try it anyways, and her little finger was accidently rolled over by the cart wheel. She quickly realized that Mommy was right.

From the sound of it, you'd think our (12 hour) shopping adventure was a disaster, but it really wasn't. In fact, on the way home, we were laughing about all of the fun we had. It didn't take Sydney long to forget about her injuries. Since Friday, she has been playing and been more active than you can imagine. And let's not forget about little Addison-she was amazing! She was happy as long we kept her fed and entertained with toys. I have been abundantly blessed with a happy and content baby.

Check out the pictures of Sydney on the way home.

Showing off her filthy sock, and she is without a shirt because she had spilt 1/2 of her chocolate milk on her before we left McDonald's.

The injured foot - notice the bump under the little toe.

One minute she is talking to Grammy and me, the next she is out like a light.

Time for BED!! Coming soon: more info on the 50th Anniversary Party, Addison's first time swimming, Sydney goes to tennis camp, and lots of pictures!! Until then, have a great week!
