Sweet Corn, swimming, and shopping

This past Saturday, the girls and I went up to my grandparents' to help put up sweet corn. Sydney and Addison have a lot of fun when they are there-finding treasures no one has played with in a very long time, eating yummy treats like Great-Grammy's cookies, and entertaining their grandparents.

A small mess this time-more to come next weekend.

Enjoying Great-Grammy's delicious cookies.

After we finished putting up the corn, we headed to Grammy's for a little swimming. Sydney showed us how she can swim with out floaties, and use her kickboard. We've been working all summer (at least when it has been warm enough to be in the pool) on teaching Sydney how to swim with out assistance. She is usually pretty fearless when it comes to doing adventurous things, but when it comes to swimming with out floaties or a life jacket she is very hesitant-even though she really wants to. It also doesn't' help that she has a lead bottom and can't seem to stay afloat. ; )

After church on Sunday, Sydney went with her cousins Trista and Brody to spend the night with their Mamaw and Papaw. Then, Addison and I went with Grammy for a little shopping getaway. We found some great deals and had a really nice time. Addison was a fantastic little shopper. Hopefully, it remains that way-Sydney does not enjoy shopping at all! For a Mama who LOVES to shop, this makes me sad.
